GRAND COULEE

Grand Coulee is on State Highway 155 in Grant County.

Grand Coulee, Coulee Center, and Coulee Heights sprawled around Engineers Town during the heyday of construction on Grand Coulee Dam.  The "towns" eventually merged into Grand Coulee in 1935.

A major project that took over 10 years to complete has been the Coulee Corridor Consortium's efforts with  funding through a National Scenic Byways grant to establish five community kiosks in small towns in Grant and Adams Counties. Each town has two sets of panels secured to basalt columns, one side is dedicated to a general description of the Coulee Corridor National Scenic Byway while the other side concentrates on town history, events and activities. The kiosks were installed in December 2019.  The Grand Coulee - Electric City kiosk is located on the edge of North Dam Park.  A formal dedication ceremony is scheduled to take place in the fall of 2020 at the park and the public is invited to attend though a date has yet to be announced.
